What an eventful month it has been! Right now the autumn leaves are at their brightest peak here in town and I marvel at the multicolored magic every time I walk outside or drive around town. Most leaves are down up in the mountains, but it is still a beautiful time of year with the bright bluebird sky.

I have noticed flu season coming a little early this year, perhaps due to the stresses and environmental exposure to molds that the floods have brought. So I have decided to post flu homeopathics and immune support soup remedies this month.

I hope that you are enjoying this perfect fall weather we are having (along with the occasional snow!). Stay healthy this season! .

Also I have been having some issues with hackers to my website lately (not the newsletter). So if you are trying to log on and find a strange page coming up, please google me and look under "Contact" since only the home page at this time seems to be effected. Please be patient with us as we try to fix this problem and prevent it's reoccurrence in the future.

Homeopathic Remedies for Colds and Flus

There are several homeopathic remedies available to combat flu effectively. At the very first sign that flu is developing, take 1/2 tube of Anas barbariae (marketed under various brand names, including Oscillococcinum) every two hours, for a total of five doses. Combination flu remedies work in majority of cases if you take one in the first 4 to 12 hours after you start having symptoms. Follow the dosage recommendations on the label of the remedy you choose. If it's going to work, you should feel relief with a single dose. Click on Find out more for specific remedies! From Holistic Online

Of course each year has a slightly different mix but these are the main ones. If self treatment is unsuccessful, please come in for an appointment.

 Susun Weed's Immune Support Soup
Good for colds, flus, prevention, and cancer support

Susun Weed is a very talented herbalist who is also a breast cancer survivor. She created this soup recipe which is truly brilliant! This soup recipe (which I post almost every winter) will boost and balance your immune system if you are currently sick with a cold or flu, and also useful if you are undergoing a therapy such as cancer treatment which can severely compromise your immune system. Prepare and eat regularly if you are one whose immune system needs a serious turbo-boost! This soup is also balancing and so safe for those with auto-immune disorders.

The wonderful root for immune building

Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. It was often combined with other herbs to strengthen the body against disease. Astragaus is called an adaptogen, meaning it helps protect the body against various stresses, including physical, mental, or emotional stress. From the University of Maryland Medical Center
